You & your role

As a Performance Test Engineer within the IT4IT squad, you are responsible for defining, measuring and continuously improving application performance across the entire technology stack. You combine performance engineering with hands-on testing to ensure that customer-facing applications meet agreed performance, scalability and reliability standards before and after release. You define and track response-time targets, identify performance improvement opportunities and enable feature teams to enhance customer experience through increased speed, quality and reliability. In addition, you validate new releases through performance testing and provide insights and recommendations that support release readiness and continuous improvement.

Examples of tasks:

• Defining and monitoring performance KPIs and targets across applications and customer journeys

• Designing and executing performance, load and stress tests for new and existing applications

• Validating non-functional requirements and performance standards before releases

• Analysing test results and translating findings into actionable improvements for feature teams

• Integrating performance testing into CI/CD pipelines and engineering workflows

• Supporting release readiness assessments and performance validation prior to production deployments

• Building dashboards and tools to make performance data accessible and enable troubleshooting in feature teams

• Collaborating with DevOps engineers, platform teams and leadership to drive performance improvements and improve customer experience

You are part of the IT4IT squad and operate at the intersection of data, engineering, and infrastructure. You work closely with DevOps engineers, platform teams, and leadership to drive performance improvements and user experience.

You & your talent

• Experience with performance metrics and KPIs

• Experience with performance, load and stress testing methodologies

• Experience validating non-functional requirements and release readiness

• Strong multiglot experience as an application engineer and infrastructure/platform engineer

• Strong understanding of complex architectures, ability to quickly understand and explain impact of architectural changes

• Experience with performance test frameworks and APM tools

• Experience with dashboards and visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau, Grafana)

• Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines

• Understanding of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and engineering workflows

• Strong stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences

• Proactive and results-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement

• Comfortable working in a newly forming organisation with high ambiguity

Additional information:

• All departments are working hybrid, in terms of Rabobank @anywhere policy

• Due to the congestion at the parking lot Rabobank location Croeselaan in Utrecht, a new parking policy will be introduced as of April 2026. From Monday through Thursday, external staff will no longer be able to park at the Croeselaan. Parking for external staff will remain permitted on Fridays only

• Please note: midlance constructions are not allowed according to Rabobank policy. Do not offer candidates via this construction. This will be investigated during the screening

• Suppliers must be aware of the laws and regulations regarding employment conditions and Rabobank’s Collective Labour Agreement. This assignment is placed in scale 10

• We would like to receive the personal motivation of the candidate and CV in English

• A candidate should be submitted exclusively to onze broker – Rabobank during the exclusivity period of 4 business days on one request

• Furthermore, the candidate has to be available throughout the entire duration of the assignment

• Pre-employment screening: If the candidate is selected to start, a pre-employment screening will be executed. As of July 1 2026, a new PES regulation applies.
